Often I ask people, what is your priority in life? What holds first place for you at this point in time? And often, the answers are quite similar and down to earth. Be it friends or family, fun and games, or work and studies, or making yourself happy. Many people haven't even been able to give an answer, saying to me " I don't know I haven't thought about it." Well maybe now is the time to give it some thought.
First of all, lets take a look at your plans and goals for the future. What do you want to do with your life? Many young people tell me, "I don't know, how should I decide?" Well, I'll tell you that you can't see the future, nor can you plan it out. But that doesn't mean you should panic. Listen to yourself. What do you desire in your life right now? Are you happy with your life? What do you think would make you happy? Are you ready to do whatever it takes? Take a look at all of these aspects, and the answer will come to you.
In my life I've come to a point where I realized, living for myself and my goals and my dreams, didn't make me happy. All my wishes and desires were so small and unimportant compared to the big wide universe, or just even the city I was living in. I realized all of them would lead to nothing in the end. Whenever I reached one of them, all I felt like was: "Now what?" There was little sense of fulfillment in the end, because everything I had accomplished was only for my own benefit. And when it came down to it, it didn't even benefit me all that much. There was just this emptiness... If before, I had something to work for, something I strove for and drove myself through sweat and tears for it, when I had finally reached it, the happiness I felt from it was so much more short-lived than all the work and pain I went through to reach it. There needs to be a constant stimulation for something, otherwise you're just stuck with a meaningless void inside of you. I think this is the reason for why we see everyone running about, trying to gain something, trying to do something, wanting to get more and more for a reason they themselves don't even know, just to have something to do, something to fill up that void with. And often, these people aren't happy, and many are even tired and dissapointed with this constant need to do something with themselves and their lives. Often, the ones who realize the meaningless of this moving about, just drop everything that they're doing. They have no goals, no plans, no meaning. They just give up on trying to find it, many commit suicide. Think about it. This is actually quite a big problem in the world. You're probably running through thoughts in your head, trying to come up with something you would solve this meaningless in your life with. Trying to find that exact goal and priority that would keep you going, that would give meaning to your entire life, without promising fake results, and giving you nothing but a short moment of happiness and fulfilment, Well, I can't tell you what to do, nor am I in the place to give you advice, but allow me to tell you about my solution.
There is this constant source of happiness that I tap into everyday. Even when something goes wrong, or I'm having a tough time in life, there is a constant joy deep inside of me. I am always at peace, and I'm never afraid of what life may bring. I know everything is going according to plan, whatever happens to me. And that there is always a reason to everything that happens, even when I don't see it. I don't have to run around and try to fill my days with something, because I already have meaning to my life, a reason I'm living for. It's a purpose to my entire life. So if you're curious as to what it is, keep reading.
You might think this is cheesy or fake, or probably even absurd, impossible, and false, but here I am, and I am completely honest with myself and with you. The absolute meaning to my life, is Jesus. It's that simple. You may ask, "What? How, and why?" Well, I'll tell you, that Jesus is the reason that I'm living. He is the reason, that I'm breathing this air, that I'm thinking these thoughts, He is my Creator, and He is the one who saved my soul and payed for my sins. I'm saved, and I'm under His care, and my life is in His hands, the best hands in the universe. The hands that can always be trusted. And my life is following his perfect plan, just for me. And all I want to do with my life, is serve Him. All I want to do, is follow His will for me, and seek Him daily. Living for Jesus is what brings fulfilment to my life. I might be a simple person, not even yet an adult of age, able to do something as big as an adult would. But when I serve Him, I know its all for a purpose, I know my life is not lived in vain, and I am doing something useful. Even a simple prayer of mine, helps make the world a better place. And I am important and priceless to God. He loves me for who I am, no matter what I've done, and I am His, forever. This is what brings me joy, in anything I might be doing. I am God's creation, like no one else. I am unique and priceless in His eyes. And guess what? So are you. And He loves you, just as much as I know He loves me. And this love is endless.
This will probably not be easy for you to believe. You might not believe it at all. But once you do, its like a whole new world has been open to you. As if you're another person, finally with a meaning to your ENTIRE life. It's that simple. All you need to do, is accept this gift. Its yours, whenever you want it. And its free. Think about it.
In the end, no matter what your decision is, or what you think about this, I love you. Even if I don't see you, and there are millions of miles between us, dear reader, I love you. And I'm reaching out to you with this post, the only way I can, and I hope you can feel me sending a smile your way. If you want to reach my hand, feel free to comment :) I will love any response you send me.
May the force be with you,
